She could have been named Jane and nothing would have changed. BTW, "Ivanka" is an equally Slavik name (Mika is probably Polish).

Yes. Her father is Zbigniew Brzezinski who was Polish. He worked for LBJ and Jimmy Carter administrations...

For his entire presidency. And he was also an advisor to LBJ. He died May 26th at 89, and he was regarded as an expert on world affairs.

as well as Russian, Finnish or Japanese. I would assume Polish or Czech as well since her parents are of Polish or Czech descent.

Looks to have started out as Finnish. Michala is the Polish equivalent. It's the F version of what turns up in English as Michael. Mi-kha-el, "who is like God".
