Joy Reid: Founders ghosts must be wondering how we got a 'mad king'

MSNBC host Joy Reid said Tuesday the ghosts of the nation's Founding Fathers must be wondering this Fourth of July how the U.S. got "a mad king" in the Oval Office.

"The founders' ghosts must be wondering why they bothered writing the emoluments clause, and how a mad king still managed to rule America," Reid said.

Reid, who worked in Barack Obama's presidential campaigns in 2008, has repeatedly criticized the Trump administration.

Her thinly veiled criticism comes after the president has taken to social media to slam members of the press and certain news outlets for being "fake news."
