Watching Richard Engel's On Assignment is illuminating.
If we see that Putin's primary goal is to establish Mob Bosses as the Heads of State across the globe, everything happening in America is thrown into high relief.
Engel has perfectly cast the players as mobsters. Putin is the head of the Russian Mafia, and Trump is positioning himself (with Putin's clear assistance), as OUR Mob Boss.
Our Intelligence Agencies are tasked with the role of Elliot Ness. But their adversaries don't have to smuggle weapons. The biggest arsenal in the world is right at hand. I fear that those fighting on our behalf will find themselves in peril personally. Anyone with facebook or a twitter feed knows of the violent threats already being launched by Trump's nascent gangsters. These "lunatics" are already armed.
When the honest men and women of the FBI are warned by Eric Holder that their "actions and integrity will be unfairly questioned",and that they must "Be prepared, be strong." for "Duty. Honor. Country." it was not just an idle pep talk.
We must view everything this Maladministration does through this dark lens so as not to be surprised.
