Had to wait for McGovern for my first Democratic presidential loss. All those ensuing decades, and only 3 Democratic presidents (two with two terms). And most, if not all, had a Republican congress at some point in their terms.
Being a Democrat isn't for the faint of heart!

instead of Humphrey, I walked my college campus all night. I couldn't believe the country could be so wrong.
I felt that way again in November. Look at how long it took us to get from nixon to Obama. How long will it take this time?
There is a lesson from that election that we need to pay attention to if we ever want to get back our country.
