If Trump allowed a note taker and more Americans into his meeting with Xi, that would have made a very pointed contrast to his virtually undocumented meeting with Putin. It makes it feel like he was trying to hide something from us and this feeling would be underscored if Trump's meeting with Xi was better documented.
