Because America is made up of slobbering idiots that buy cars with sawdust in the transmissions. Well, it sounded good when we drove it off the lot.
What's the matter with you people! You don't trust the President to go behind closed doors with Vladimir Putin, for more than two hours, without any historical record and without any national security watching him? You act like he would come up with an idea to strengthen our cyber security by sharing it with Russia? Put a little sugar in the gas tank...it should run about a mile before it finally comes to a sputtering stop.
And the most shocking part of it all is that he does it in broad daylight. Because there are blathering idiots on the ready to excuse whatever the traitor might do next. We may as well give instructions to the hangman on how to make the trapdoor work a little more smoothly.
It is all so incomprehensibly stupid.
(edit: If I may paint with a broad brush?)

Theres two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump, McCarthy (R-Calif.) said, according to a recording of the June 15, 2016, exchange, which was listened to and verified by The Washington Post. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher is a Californian Republican known in Congress as a fervent defender of Putin and Russia.
House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) immediately interjected, stopping the conversation from further exploring McCarthys assertion, and swore the Republicans present to secrecy.
Before the conversation, McCarthy and Ryan had emerged from separate talks at the Capitol with Ukrainian Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman, who had described a Kremlin tactic of financing populist politicians to undercut Eastern European democratic institutions.

Everyone eligible to vote who didn't vote for HRC--which in effect was a vote for Trump. In fact, they're even more to blame. Add them to the D-list: deplorable, detestable, and disgusting!

(145 posts)accessory to a crime is still a crime. When you know damn well what's about to happen and you aid and abet it, then calling it "neglecting civil duties" is cavil.

(111,092 posts)...because they should have known damn well what's about to happen and they aided and abetted by not voting ?
That's stretching it a bit, don't you think?
Actually it's stretching it to think they didn't know. But this will be my last reply on this.
You have your view, I mine. And I'll leave it at that.
Be well.

Absolutely those Democrats who did not vote for our nominee were traitors to the party.

The "Party of Reagen" who are all nationalistic and proud of the "Shinning City on the Hill" and have spent half a century slamming democrats for being weak on national security, who chanted AMERICA FIRST at rallies for this POS:
In about a year period have enabled and now are perfectly fine with 45 completely compromising this country to Russia, and retroactively going back in time to give them the win on the Cold War AND gleefully ceded our spot at the head of the table as the leader of the free world.

(261 posts)I understand that the meeting with Putin took place without even a note taker, which is unprecedented. Does anyone know if that was the case with his meeting with Xi? I tried to look into that but didnt get anywhere. It would make for a very interesting contrast.
kentuck
(111,092 posts)Putin was the one that hacked into our electoral process. Do not lose track of the big picture.
srobertss
(261 posts)I don't think I was very clear in my question, judging from two answers to it. If Trump allowed a note taker and more Americans into his meeting with Xi, that would have made a very pointed contrast to his virtually undocumented meeting with Putin. It makes it feel like he was trying to hide something from us and this feeling would be underscored if Trump's meeting with Xi was better documented.

(6,974 posts)But he had it just right last week when he said that he's afraid that we'll have a PERMANENT thuglican majority running this country because the thuglicans are not going to impeach their president. even if he's guilty of treason (Which he IS) until they can destroy this country AND start amending the Constution.
I keep reading where Dems are saying that they are not giving into anything negative where our voting rights are concerned. I hear them, but there is nothing normal about the situation we find ourselves in as a country which is co-opted by an evil, foreign dictator. We're NOT going to have free or fair elections in 2018 and beyond. tRumputin's feeling froggy with the bit of mental capacity he has left, so he's taking our (Dem votes) away from us right out in the open with this treasonous shit now in teaming up with his Lord and Master IE: President of the United States of American putin.
Protesting and taking to the streets could turn out people all across this country, but I read where there are laws that the GOP want passed asap where by protestors are classified as felons, and felons cannot vote. As if the GOP doesn't have ENOUGH to keep them in power with gerrymandering voter-purging and voter-crosschecking Dems off of voter rolls or erasing their votes all together--maybe they'll leave that to their buddies the ruskies in 2018 since they have as much say in the way our country runs as we Dems and GOP folks who want to fight back against turning our country into the USSR WEST.

It will give him years more of hearing people speak his name which is the only thing of importance to him.

(7,968 posts)Take heart, their are more Americans who are not the slobbering idiots. It is just that the forces of evil have now put the slobbering idiots in control because they serve a useful purpose for the moment.
The situation will likely change as they are over reaching by more than a little. The slobbering idiots are drunk with their own power and don't have the sense to realize where the real power lies. As soon as they are no longer useful they will thrown away like yesterday's garbage. We just need to be smart and time our resistance to take advantage of the weakness which is that the idiots are not expecting the resistance to have any real bit.
We need to start with big wins in the 2018 midterms. It will be long 18 months but we can turn the tide. We get ready So that it will happen before the corporate bosses (who are the real power brokers) realize what has happened.
