I had the great displeasure of interacting with him once when I lived in RI. I used to think the guy was an incredible actor before I met him, but he successful crapped on that image. I've never met another "celebrity" that was such a gigantic prick.

I've met PLENTY of celebrities who fit that bill, but it's never changed my opinion of their work. I don't think you are appreciating, and maybe I didn't articulate well enough, just how much of an asshole Woods is.

I have certainly had my opinion of famous people altered significantly by interacting them.

With respect to Woods, his unhinged right-wing craziness on twitter on elsewhere have definitely impacted my view of him as a person, but I still appreciate several of his performances.

i say "pleasure" because i cleaned up against him. you'd think an actor would, if nothing else, have a great poker face but he was an easy read.

i'm not a great poker player and normally i don't even try to read body language (it's not nearly as effective or accurate as people think it is, and too easy to manipulate) but this guy was just really obvious.

Yeah, so whatever you do, don't suggest that James Woods is strung out on coke, because he may go right ahead and sue you for saying that he's strung out on coke.

Apparently James Woods gets very tense, when people suggest he's strung out on coke.

...I changed the subject line accordingly. I hate to do that, because of free speech, but in the troll-filled world we live in, I don't need anyone sending links to James Woods.

I actually had some dork reply to one of my tweets once with "Sounds like a threat," and he tagged Homeland Security.

I had definitely not posted anything threatening, and I'm sure Homeland Security has better things to do than send an unmarked white van to my house to waterboard me over my non-threatening tweet. However, I was busy that day, and had no time for an interrogation on my schedule.

It was the Trump revenge ethic of "hitting back 10 times harder." It's out there for anyone who wants to search for it. It was vicious glee and a victory lap over the guy dying.

Is he still rumored to be strung out on coke, or was he only rumored to be strung out on coke at the time?

Scorsese simply filmed Woods being himself, and the abusive shithead vibe seemed so natural and real that it fit into the script perfectly.

I still enjoy it, but yeah...there was probably a lot of the real James Woods in that role. He basically was a rotten vampire hunter.
