The Russian phrase полезные дураки meaning "useful idiots" or "useful innocents" (which was mistakenly attributed to Lenin) is commonly known as describing assets that work to advance the interests of the Russian Government without knowing it.
It has been erroneously applied to Trump and his campaign. They were well aware that they had a common cause and colluded to achieve it.
The real Useful Idiots in the United States over the last year is the media that in the interests of being "non partisan" became obsessed with Hillary Clinton's emails, even though there was never any evidence that there was anything wrong in the maintenance of her personal server, any potential distribution of highly classified material or anything the least bit unprofessional about the content of her email.
The emails recently released by Donald Trump Jr. are a million times more damaging than anything that months of investigation ever revealed about Secretary Clinton's emails.
And yet the media continued with "what about the people that are saying" line that they hid behind to promote the most idiotic lines that are useful to the most partisan effect.
Just turned on CNN and watched Blitzer (the most idiotic and most useful of the 'useful idiots') who continues the practice by saying "what do you say to the people who say that even though they had the meeting nothing came of it".
All of the idiots in the media who continued to bring up the question of Clinton emails when there was no indication of wrong doing, and then repeated it daily over and over again for months on end now owe Mrs. Clinton and the American people an apology for gross malpractice and abdication of their professional responsibilities. All of those who swallowed the "Clinton Email" line while these traitors were meeting and subverting the democratic process should resign from their high paying anchor and reporter positions and leave the profession they have betrayed so consistently.
