Why do I keep picturing ...

... Trump greeting Don Jr., kissing him and saying, "I KNOW it was you, Fredo - you broke my heart."

I'm loving the O Henry-esque irony of the fact that while Trump made political hay of HRC's "emails" throughout his campaign, it's his own son's emails that are about to topple his administration.

The "there's no evidence of collusion" lifeboat the GOP has been clinging to for months has now not only sprung the ultimate leak - it's so full of water, you could stock it with trout and rent it out to weekend fishermen wanting a guaranteed good catch.

The only question still hanging over the Trump "pResidency" at this point is how quickly Idiot Boy will throw his own son under the bus in hopes of saving his own skin - or vice versa.

10. You know, if this is true, these emails are better than anything we could've ever hoped for.

But they're so perfect, it really gives me a smidgen of doubt. After Rachel's warning last week about fake documents, I'm wondering if this stuff is too good to be true. It's like all the boxes are checked off in the perfection of the setup.

I didn't realize the impact of how damaging these were 'till I read the full transcript in the New York Times. Here are some quotes from Rob Goldstone:

"The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.
This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump"

"Emin asked that I schedule a meeting with you and The Russian government attorney who is flying over from Moscow for this Thursday."

"They can't do today as she hasn't landed yet from Moscow 4pm is great tomorrow."

Trump Jr. says in his comment, "The woman, as she has said publicly, was not a government official." But Goldstone states that this information is coming from the Russian Government, and refers to Veselnitskaya as "The Russian government attorney."

This is such a turning-the-corner game-changer that I'm in a bit of a too-good-to-be-true moment. 1% of me is apprehensive of a fake-news ratfuck. I'm hoping I can trust the Times's due diligence beyond Don Jr.'s document dump.

On the other hand, considering the source, I don't think the trump clan is smart enough to pull off such a well-put-together document by their own devices. This thing really is hugh.

12. Thankfully Kushner and Manafort have these same emails that they turned over to their attorneys

since Trump Jr forwarded the emails to Kushner and Manafort. Manafort's lawyer already confirmed them saying that Manafort didn't read all the emails (in a way to defend Manafort's participation). Kushner turned them over to his lawyers and has apparently talked to FBI about the meeting as has Manafort. Apparently Manafort also turned over info about the meeting to Senate committee.

So these emails are certainly legitimate.

The behind-the-scenes machinations of the players are intriguing and so much we don't know yet with the investigations underway.
