After PINO said that Australia had better health care than the US, I was hoping that somebody would suggest that we model our system on theirs.

I used to work with an Australian man and he described their system to me (everyone gets good basic coverage, additional is available from private insurance companies for additional care [nonessential work, upgraded hospital care, etc.]). It really sounded terrific!

He also told me about the Port Arthur Massacre and Australia's sensible reaction to it.

Dang! I think I would love Australia.

If it weren't for the critters.
