Jared Kushner's lawyer Jamie Gorelick just quit representing him in the Russia scandal.

Jamie Gorelick, the lawyer representing White House senior adviser Jared Kushner on matters relating to the Russia investigation, said Friday she will leave. Gorelick said she is “wrapping up” her work for Kushner related to omissions he made on ethics and security-clearance disclosure forms. Replacing Gorelick is Abbe Lowell, a criminal-defense attorney who has represented high-profile clients including John Edwards and Jack Abramoff.

The excerpt refers to her as "she."

I do get your humorous point, however, bettyellen!

In fact, Ms. Gorelick is a very experienced DC attorney and I'm certain that she only took the job representing Kushner under her own terms, severely limiting her role and involvement. The excerpt says she was finishing her work "related to omissions he made on ethics and security-clearance disclosure forms." Correcting forms is procedural but working on a criminal and political case could be a disastrous mess.

I'd bet she is smart enough and connected enough to know that the Trumps have some profoundly serious problems that are coming to light.

Increasingly these folks are going to find Washington insiders not returning their calls (of course this has already happened).

I wonder if she was asked to knowingly put false information on a disclosure form.

I'm not a Chris Christie fan in any way, shape, or form, but I can imagine the sights and sounds of him laughing his ass off after Jared's many attempts to block him from a position in the administration after what he did to Daddy.

Then again, Trump will probably issue a full pardon, no matter what happens.

Still worth it to see this particular worm twisting on the hook.

I'm not sure what this means, but it's a big deal. Gorelick took a ton of grief for representing him due to her being a loyal Democrat. For her to suffer through all the criticism and THEN dump him means that something significant happened.

as far as I am concerned.

Everyone, including the sleaziest defendant, is entitled to a proper defense.

I strongly doubt she would leak information.

If she leaked a client's information she would be disbarred, sued, and quite possibly prosecuted.

She would know better. All lawyers know better. Attorney-client communications are absolutely privileged with a few very limited exceptions. If she leaks anything Jared told her she'd be disciplined severely, possibly disbarred.

Jamie cannot defend him if he doesn't tell her everything. You can't mount an effective defense if relevant stuff that your client never told you about comes out.

It then looks like she is not a good attorney, when the real problem is the client and his lying.

Now, probably a full-fledged criminal offense lawyer is required, to defend against a possible indictment?

Maybe Mueller informed Jarrett that he is now a target. Maybe 666 5 Avenue financing shenanigans.

Gorelick isn't a trial lawyer, but she knows the DC bureaucracy and what needs to be done to fulfill the paperwork requirements. I'm sure she was happy to leave the whole mess behind after doing what she was hired to do.

Abbe Lowell is an experienced criminal defense lawyer although the clients mentioned in this thread didn't get off.

Death penalty turned into life in prison.

20 year corruption sentence turned into five-year corruption sentence.

Five-year corruption sentence turned into 6 months + probation.
