Master Propaganda at Play

"Lock her up!" "Lock her up!"

Make no mistake, if this were a Democrat that had met secretly with Russia to get "opposition research" against their Republican opponent, it would be treason. There would be no "fake news". The networks would be quoted as evidence against the Democratic Party. Impeachment would already have taken place. On talk radio, and on the floor of the House and Senate, there would be talk of imprisonment for betrayal of our country.

Only a few months ago, this same treasonous Party was talking about the crimes of Hillary Clinton. She had her own personal email server. It could have exposed her to enemy hacking. And there was Benghazi. The right-wing was in a tizzy about the crimes committed when 4 CIA agents were killed by the terrorists in Libya. Never mind that David Petraeus was in charge of the CIA. Hillary was the Secretary of State and she bore full responsibility and should have been sent to prison, they said.

We compare those charges against Hillary against the words and actions of this Republican Administration and we have all the evidence we need of which Party controls the propaganda in this country. They are masters at manipulating their followers and the news media in this country. They wish for everyone to believe that everything is normal. It's just politics.

1. Had this been Clinton and not Trump, articles of impeachment would have already

been voted on and we'd be waiting for the Senate verdict now.

The GOP would have gone after her family, friends, all associates, and everyone and anyone she has ever waved at on the street.

There would non-stop grandstanding on Fox news of GOP congressional members - excoriating Clinton and all Democrats.

It would be far uglier than anything they accomplished with their Arkansas project.

2. If Clinton had pulled just *one* of #45's stunts (pick your favorite)...

She'd be facing excoriating and extreme measures of right-wing vengeance.

Hell, if even I said something or behaved at my workplace anything like #45 does routinely as president, I'd be shown the sidewalk face-first. Within moments, probably.

6. Corporate media in general are one of the problems.
Tue Jul 18, 2017, 07:03 AM

The root of it ALL is the money in our politics. I will work backwards to explain:

The FCC, the regulatory agency in charge of the media, including Fox, like all regulatory agencies today, are under-funded and headed by industry insiders or those who will soon be rich insiders for a job well done. They have allowed media consolidation to the point we have 6 companies controlling 95% of what we see, hear, and read;

Donors have Representative Democrasy, not the people. Our politiicans represent the Donor class, big corporations and super-wealthy individuals. They get their agenda passed which perpetuates their wealth and interests at our expense. In order to get elected nationally, and even statewide you must give quid pro quos to the Donors or you do not win. This is also true of many elected judges.

The combination of media propaganda and big Donors using campaign donations, Super PACs, Dark Money, and The Revolving Door cement control of our country in the hands of TPTB.

BP spent a ton of money in advertising both nationally and along the Gulf Coast to keep the stories of the victims out of the news and prevent the national media from doing follow-up stories. We have a media group in-house at our firm and my boss has appeared on all of the networks in the past. Once the oil spill hit the producers we had dealt with all told us the networks would not allow them to have him on to talk about what really was happing. We still have cases that the court has had sitting for 7 years and will not remand to the trial courts to start working them up for trial!

10. Make no mistake

Fox is the ring leader but msnbc and cnn are also involved. It's a good cop bad cop approach. The narrative is what matters and the M$M follows the narrative.
I have posted this example numerous times; Fox will say president Obama beats his wife, Cnn will say not enough information and Msnbc will say no he doesn't, but we are still talking about president Obama beating his wife.
There are a few reporters who break from the narrative from time to time; Shep Smith, Don Lemon, Rachel, Chris Hayes, and Lawrence, but they need to be wary of getting axed for their off script actions.

MSNBC is supposed to be liberal but what happened to Phil Donahue, Cenk Uygur Keith Olbermann, Dylan Ratigan, Martin Brashear, Melissa Harris-Perry? They all went off script.

We should be talking about impeachment and treason right now, it should be flooding the airways.

Donald Trump Jr., Kushner, and Manafort met with a Russian cyber spy and a Russian government attorney.
Jared Kushner failed to report his meetings with Russians 3 separate times, he lied on his security clearance forms. We should be talking about jail time for Kushner not about whether or not he should keep his security clearance.

Trumpcare is a freaking disastrous nightmare, it should be scoffed at by the M$M, its backers should be scoffed at on cable news, yet they parade on TV and lie and are allowed to lie about how Trumpcare is going to give people more freedom to not have health insurance, and allow them to buy cheap policies that cover nothing.

The importance of the M$M backing Republicans is not talked about enough, it enables them to reek havoc on America.

that the primary role of media is to promote the agenda of its owners. We need our own media.
They are all tools of the 1% trying to corner specific markets.

8. Yes. But we are capable of much better messaging than we do. We simply don't do it.

10 or 20 PR professionals crafting a cohesive message and cohesive responses to crises would not break the bank.

12. OK, then what happens?

I say we should be talking about impeachment and jail time for people in the Trump administration. That's what I call better messaging, talking truthfully.
What would happen to reporters who push that narrative? They would shortly get canned. What would happen to Democrats who push that narrative? God bless Maxine Waters. They would get corporate money thrown against them in their next elections.

The DNC had a chance to set a new message and it failed, it failed to elect Keith Ellison. It sure seems to me that the DNC doesn't want to change the narrative. I will continue giving contributions to Democrats, but they will go directly to the candidate.

By the bye, this is better messaging, a statement released by an Independent Senator;
"I am delighted to see that the disastrous Republican health care plan will not succeed. The American people want to proceed to health care for all, not see 22 million Americans thrown off of the health care they currently have. This is a great victory for the millions of Americans who stood up and fought back against this dangerous legislation."

https://www.sanders.senate.gov/

This statement should be the official response of the DNC, and of every Congressional Democrat.

And the only possible way for Democrats to improve our messaging was electing Ellison?

Just stop.

I know that many Democrats are standing strong against Trump - and people like Pelosi, Liu, and Schiff are being very vocal- but Democrats need a unified crescendo of resistance.

15. The real problem is the willful ignorance of the pople of this country
Tue Jul 18, 2017, 08:14 AM
Jul 2017

All of this is glaringly obvious.

As is all of the republican fuck wittery I have witnessed my entire life.

But, this country just can not stop indulging their stupidity.

200+ Marines died in a bomb blast when, for some god unknown reason, they were holed up in a hotel in fucking Beirut. 4 people died in a diplomatic outpost (a situation that occurred in various forms almost a dozen times under W and no one ever said a word) and as noted, Benghazi was a the greatest scandal in history!

Can you imagine if a D had been POTUS when the Beirut bombing occurred.

But, Reagen beat up, literally the smallest kid in the neighborhood (Grenada) and Beirut never happened, and Reagen was the greatest POTUS EVER, the whole selling arms to Iran to fund the Contras thing was just a thing that happened you know.

If Gore had been POTUS when 9-11 happened, he would have been crushed, and we would not have seen another democratic POTUS in decades, but 90% approval and 7 years of never criticizing the COIC!

They lied the country into Iraq and were held accountable in 06 and 08, but the country saw fit to give them the biggest mid term win in our lives in 2010, they were openly seditious pricks for 8 years to BHO, including sending a letter to Iran trying to subvert the nuclear agreement, and then ran 45 and got him elected.

Time, after time, after time, after time, they send this country into a rat hole and this country just keeps indulging them.

Someone posted the number of convictions in democratic and republican admins since Nixon and it is absurd 200+ for Rs a handful for Ds. But, their 1/3 zombies truly live in a world we we are scandalous, power hungry evil scumbags, and the "middle" 1/3 lives in a world where "they are both the same."

People nit pick D "messaging" and there is something to that. But, it should not matter, Rs are THAT fin bad.
