for a replacement (if ever), millions of Americans will lose their health coverage. Insurance companies are preparing the various premiums set for October enrollment. The price of premiums will skyrocket without a guaranty of something to replace the ACA.
Will the CBO issue a report of just a repeal vote?

(4,533 posts)Collins and Moran are opposed because the Republican replacement would hurt those they represent. Repeal alone won't fix their concerns. Lee and Paul are opposed because the Republican plan will not hurt people enough. They think we should return to the glorious limited govt days of Charles Dickens, where children were free to work from morning to night to avoid starvation. So they will probably vote yes. Pence breaks the tie. BUT there must be at least one Republican who now supports the Republican bill because he or she knows the bill will not pass. I bet at least one Republican talks as if he longs for the life those in Dickensian Londoners had but deep down is secretly not a monster. Who will find an excuse to vote no for repeal delayed 2 years. And maybe another Republican is sincere in supporting laws condemning the non rich to short brutish lives but is worried it will cost Republicans votes. Some Republican will probably be willing to sacrifice his Republican die-you-filthy-poor-person principles just to stay in power.
I just don't see Repeal with delay passing.
