I can easily see him tell McConnell to go to hell.

He might love his job like Kennedy did and try to serve out his term. Or he might want to take things as they come at home with his family, enjoying what he can while he can.

Either way, I doubt he's going to be in any mood to be summoned by a shitbag like McConnell.

Cornyn called McConnell a master legislator, and in destructive terms, he has a point, but it's easy to be negative but much harder to be constructive and inclusive. He doesn't have a good record on that.

on all things...he even stole our nomination...he didn't have to craft any legislation really...just had to do debt ceiling and not shutting down the government...both of which he failed quite spectacularly on a couple of times. Governing is different if you are in power...this is a terrible bill and he can't win. If it passed and if it fails he loses...and now maybe he loses his majority in 18.

get enough votes to get it onto the floor. McCain won't be there (Lawrence O'Donnell talked about a friend who had the same illness and reckoned there's no way he could travel so soon), and Collins has already said no. Looks like Murkowski has also said no.

mainly servant to ultrawealthy right-wing extremists. He's used and accepted the promotion by his party of white nationalism, xenophobia, voter suppression, and the turning of GOP voters into a political partisan hate group.

Yes, he has put his personal brakes on at some of the extremism, and we do need him to continue doing what he is now, but far too little too late. It'd not be what his nation needed even if he succeeded, tremendously overweighed by his whole appalling betrayal of his duty by opposing healthcare reform and then trying to take most of it away in spite of massive public support.

And that "giant sucking sound?" The transfer of our nation's wealth and power to a few? McCain has been behind most of the worst they have done over the past 30 years.

He's no hero to me for merely opposing repealing healthcare outright or using it as an excuse to gut Medicaid, and if he "flies in" to vote, that and his vote itself will be his choice, as always. HE won't be the victim.
