A pardon is a legal admission of guilt.

And the moment he tries a pardon or tries to fire Mueller ( which he legally cannot do either,) it will end up in court in 5 seconds flat. and if need be climb up all the courts to SCOTUS, which takes time he does not have while Mueller continues to turn the screws.

and if Trump is panicking NOW, what the hell does Mueller have? The money angle is scaring the shit out of Trump.
