However, a lot of this information was available before Trump took office, and i wonder if the media had not been jacking off to the Podesta emails, if they would have gotten to these stories faster.

They went for the easily available weaponized email stories and did not do their due diligence on Russia, even though the Clinton campaign warned us and the press repeatedly about money connections to Russia and other oligarchs.
