Grassley has betrayed the country

Allowing Kushner and Manafort to merely provide docs (and maybe testify at some time in the future) and going after the Steele Dossier funding source.

Drumph is getting the toadies to fall in line with his corruption.

Looks like he will sack Sessions and appoint a lacky to fire Mueller.

We are now fully locked into a fascist state.

Time to form a Blue Guard.

Though he has since denied it

“Steele was initially hired by FusionGPS, a Washington-based political research firm, to investigate Trump on behalf of unidentified Republicans who wanted to stop Trump's bid for the party's nomination. The BBC said on Wednesday, "He (Steele) was compiling this report on behalf of initially Trump's opponent Jeb Bush," referring to one of Trump's 16 opponents in the 2016 Republican primary.”

Trump can't outright appoint someone to be AG. He can nominate a candidate who then must be confirmed by the Senate. Comey was fired back in the beginning of May and we still don't have a Director of the FBI yet.

The intent is to divert attention away from Russia or tr-dump admin. collusion with Russia.

Let's focus on instead of Russia, something else, we could manufacture a smokescreen.. Let's say without the fake, false and totally untrue Steele Dossier which is full of outright lies - there would be no Russia investigation or concerns of collusion, no Comey matter and no Mueller matter or open investigations of tr-dump but for the flagrant lie of the Steele Dossier.

So here is an idea - let us drop the Russian/tr-dump investigation and let us direct all resources to the Steele Dossier and just investigate the fraudulent way that came about.

Poof the Russian problem, the Russian collusion problem, the Comey problem, and the Mueller problem involving tr-dump magically just disappear.

It is like the Nunes smokescreen debacle. Take the focus off Flynn/Intel agency/Russian collusion/tr-dump - shutdown those inquiries.

Then open an inquiry about Obama administration unmasking and wiretapping team tr-dump.

There now ~ tr-dump is in the clear and suspicion has been cast elsewhere. The Re-thug party can now continue to dismantle Democracy and install a Fascist State.

IIRC, it is anti trump conservatives.........well unless Grassley is going to try to spin it to smear the Dems.

AFAIK, no one in the gov't or media has said or proved that anything in the dossier is true.

What is he trying to cover up? What is true, that Grassley doesn't want known.

He gave the Senate committee testimony on matters that are still under investigation.

If the "unproven" matters (and we can only speculate what they are) had been told on public TV they could have violated people's right to privacy, and their right to a fair trial. Also for reasons of national security having to do with certain espionage procedures. So there are usually good precedents for this kind of thing.

I think Mueller knows what he's doing. Let's give him some leeway here.

I'm sorry, but the sky isn't falling, we're not "fully locked into a fascist state". It helps if you actually understand basic facts like Trump can't just appoint an Attorney General. Getting basic facts like that wrong while crying wolf really undercuts the argument.

You need to read this article by TPM:

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/the-president-at-war

Trump has decided he and his family are above the law. He is putting in place all the parts needed to limit Mueller's investigation; fire Mueller if necessary; appoint a new AG to fire Mueller; pardon his aides, family and himself.

Trump knows that his entire business career is crooked and will not stand up to legal scrutiny, thus, he is putting himself and his family outside the reach of the law.

If that's not fascist, I don't know what is.

Its a statement of fact.

The USA has a terrible election system and the Russians have sown deep chaos easily. The Constitution is fraught with ridiculous notions re impeachment.

The IC has failed in my humble opinion. Totally failed to prevent this outrage. Now we depend on a flimsy process subject to a huge extent on the whims of a fuckwit POTUS.
