Ten great things about Obamacare...

1. The end of the Medicare doughnut hole.

2. Free Medicare preventive services.

3. Free preventive services for all women.

4. No denying health insurance because of a pre-existing medical condition.

5. Insurers can't gouge people with pre-existing conditions.

6. End of pre-existing restrictions on children's access to health insurance.

7. Adult children up to age 26 can now continue to get health insurance on their parents policy.

8. The law ends lifetime limits on insurance payouts.

9. Health insurers must spend at least 80 percent of their premium dollars on health care.

10. New standardized insurance coverage reports. This makes it easier to compare plans from different companies.

Yes I favor a public healthcare system but in the meantime we CANNOT lose what we've gained above.

I cannot describe how fervently I detest Republican oligarch bootlickers. Truly cannot.

Am I wrong about this? Facebook republicons keep claiming that Congress should be on ACA if it's so great, but I am sure I read that they are on some sort of ACA, as of last year or the year before.

26 year old adults are not "children", they are adults.

If they still want to be considered children, let's raise the drinking age to 26 then

Back when my kids were in their early twenties. I could see how much growing up they still needed to do.

allows students to pursue higher education with coverage. It allows those younge adults that are diagnosed with serious health problems time to heal and transition to independence without gaps in treatment.

Without adequate coverage at 26. He could NOT afford his own coverage and we, his parents, would have ended up paying for an individual policy for him without ACA.

BTW, HE PAID his way thru grad school with a teaching assistantship and side tutoring. He had to budget to pay bills and had but tad little coverage with the university policy. During this time he was hospitalized once - Ka-Ching $$$! So, I'm most grateful ACA made BC/BS keep him on our policy.

I'm sure there are other young folks who need help too.
