This is a guy who took it when W's operatives planted a nasty story about his adopted daughter in the media during the 2000 race. A couple years later he's hugging W on stage.

When the economy collapsed in 2008 it was McCain who sat in a meeting with W and others and froze while then Sen. Obama took charge and appeared confident.

In 2016 he offered support to a man who mocked his POW status.

Maverick my ass. He is what he was in 2008: McSame.

Party first. Always.

So yeah, fuck John McCain.

I remember some years back here on DU (I was here under a different screen name) and people here were gushing over how liberal he was. I was angry and frustrated at those members. They simply weren't paying attention to what he was really like.

Plus, I was living in Phoenix when he was a Congressman, and quietly sold his home in the not very nice part of the city where his Congressional district was, and bought a much, much nicer one in a better part of town because he was absolutely planning to run for the Senate, even though he wasn't being open and honest about that yet.

I also went to high school in Tucson, AZ, in the 1960's, and I recall my social studies teacher (who normally would not let loose any hint of his political opinions) saying with a large degree of bitterness, that the only reason we had Barry Goldwater as a Senator was thanks to the conservatives in Phoenix. He was right, of course.

But yeah, a man who can take as much time as needed of his job and not miss a paycheck, a man who even if his health care weren't already being fully paid for would be able to afford it entirely out of pocket, he'll go back and vote to make sure that millions of others won't have anything remotely resembling his privilege and care.

What I'm thinking right now can't be posted.

His health care alone has cost the taxpayers a bundle. I hope he recovers his
health, but the hypocrisy of receiving very expensive care on the taxpayer buck,
while he votes to screw the rest of us non-governmental employee is ugly.

Will cancer-stricken @SenJohnMcCain help a draft-dodger who called him a loser take health care from millions? Then this will be his legacy.

He put ego/career head of our country when he, a 70 plus year old with history of cancer, chose Palin as vice presidential candidate.

I called his office around 1pm AZ time ( I am a constituent) and was told they didn't know when the vote would take place so weren't sure he would be able to make the vote.

I asked her to tell him that he is lucky to have such good insurance for his battle with cancer and I hoped at this difficult time he realized how awful it would be to take healthcare care from 500,000 Arizonana and millions of Americans.

against the Senate's TrumpCare bill. He was heard to mutter at Sen. McConnell "#$%&*(+)*&%$#@ etc." and finally summed up by saying "and the same to you Donald." Sen. McConnell was apoplectic, fell to floor in a fit, and was taken away to Georgetown Hospital, suspected of having a stroke.
