ACA dies tomorrow.
What little protections we have when it comes to medical care will vanish. Don't be so shocked.... it was part of the plan before Obama even signed the bill to start with.
They'll keep the provisions that shovel money to insurance companies, Big Pharm and Big Med. They'll kill off anything that gives policy holders any rights whatsoever. Your employer will have an easier time treating you like shit when you are more terrified of losing your medical coverage.
You think an MRI costs a butt full now? Give it 60 days.
It will be interesting to see what the holdouts got paid for their vote.

(1,798 posts)is the plan for the republican party. For what? So the barons can have another fucking tax cut and drain our economy somemore with their offshoring.
The republican party is disgusting but hell, people keep voting for the disease.

(6,679 posts)WORKING people put their kids in factories and coal mines and outright sold them off to try to survive.
My bet is on they don't let it get to that point again... just let us graze well enough to still afford all the screens we have and the services to run them. Great pacifiers those.....

(18,631 posts)And in 2 years, right after they vote in all the Republicans again, BOOM!, their health insurance disappears.

(36,295 posts)It's not a final vote on ACA.

(6,679 posts)But in my mind, it's one in the same.
I wish I could have more faith... but letting it move forward is basically the end IMHO.

(35,661 posts)not to post something like a fact when it's not, and especially when it's just based on your emotions. After I saw your post, I went searching the news sites to figure out context, none of which you provided. That in itself is not uncommon in a forum, but it's the certainty with which you posted that had me alarmed.
What did I miss? I was at work and busy. I had not seen the news. What were you talking about? All I learned is that McCain is coming back for the vote, and nothing about how he was going to vote.
Now I check the thread and you tell us you're uninformed about the nature of the vote. Furthermore, you even seem aware that you are catastrophizing.
This nightmare with republicans and the vote is bad enough without people writing this kind of negative, irresponsible crap. You owe an apology.

(22,035 posts)While I agree with you that we can't be complacent, far too many people don't know what the legislation represents.
Those components will be the deciding factors for the GOP senators.
On the other hand, November 8, 2016 stunned me. I could be wrong again.

(21,714 posts)I agree that if they vote to proceed, it will be a bad thing. But they are not voting on the final bill, yet

(25,816 posts)That will chafe many R asses, and they won't support it because it's not
mean enough. If they try to do a total repeal, more moderate R's will object
to protect their constituents. They are in a bind. McCain (the despicable asshole),
said today that he wouldn't support the bill in it's current form.
They are in a bind.
