He's Catch-22ing himself
Pick a toady and even Rs will oppose.
Appoint a consensus-picked AG? He'll get a lot more pushback than Sessions.

President Trump, angry over Sessions' recusal from Russia probe, has reportedly spoken to advisers about firing him.

Senators are planning to continue procedural moves to prevent the Senate from formally adjourning for recess next month in order to prevent President Donald Trump from making recess appointments, when the chamber eventually adjourns through the Labor Day weekend.

I suspect that Republican leadership in the Senate will not take the actions that they did last year to formally avoid a recess so as to block any chance Obama would have to make any recess appointments.

Trump could act to do so in August - Republicans will make disapproving noise and say how inappropriate it was for Trump to do so, after it's a done deal. That way they can all avoid the embarrassment of having to cast any actual votes at confirmation hearings any time soon.

as soon as he can declare VICTORY on the repeal of Obamacare (Stripped down bill..skeletal replace and most issues unresolved because they need 60 votes to truly take apart the train) but yes...GLORIOUS VICTORY.
Then he will lower the boom on Sessions.

the republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief, Comrade Casino.

What a sad sack of political scum the republicans have barfed onto America.
