(51,649 posts)When I watched him drive into the gate like royalty I started yelling Fuck You and Boooo Boooo so loudly I made my dog nervous.
I wish the worst of the worst for that bastard. He signed my death sentence. It will happen but only after I suffer in extreme pain for a few years first since I won't be able to afford the surgeries needed to reduce the pain I will have for the rest of my lfe. I am glad it will be short since the pain is so bad and there aren't any meds strong enough to help much. I am sooooo glad McCain was able to afford HIS expensive surgery. I guess being a hard working, underpaid teacher for over 15 years makes me lazy and not entitled to affordable healthcare. I had to spend $30,000 for insur for only 2 years before the ACA and that didn't even include out of pocket costs and this was before I was diagnosed with my current illness.
Fuck him a million time over until he dies and in his future lives too. I hope he suffers as much as me. I believe in the Golden Rule.

(8,292 posts)I'm so sorry to read of your struggles.
Just know, there are many like you thinking, feeling and crying the same disgust as you.
I hope honor for fellow citizens rules the day in the end and a "hail Mary" comes down from whoever to fix this healthcare mess
we have in this country. I am sad to hear of your pain.
I am sitting here in pain myself.
By no fault of my own.
Bone pain. Hip pain.
Had physical therapy today.
They iced me down before I left. awww, relief.
We didn't ask for our health, that's the cards we were dealt when we were born with this DNA.
Those on the other side that feel that we deserve our misery because we didn't live honorably, maybe smoked a few or drank a few, we deserve it for not taking care of themselves (???!!! What???)
And I say, "Fuck Them." Loudly.
I didn't do anything much different than anyone else than to be born with a pre-disposition to my current (55+ yr old) condition.
For-Profit Healthcare should be reclassified a sin.

Whatever he is hiding, it has to be big. I think that is why he keeps working, he is terrified that someone will open his files for the world to see what a FAKE hero he is. He may have fooled some but most of us, plus himself, KNOW the truth about Songbird.

(245 posts)I was proud when he denounced one of his supporters for alleging that Mr. Obama was an Arab. Other than that, there are fewer instances of where I am sickened by his words aND actions. Palin being brought in, Lieberman as his V.P. choice, his wish to keep the Confederate flags, his stance on many President Obama initiatives and even his desire to be reelected once again, for a six year term shows that this is not a nice person.
And his decision to go along with the party rather than for the good of the country shows us what he really believes.

(7,541 posts)So yes FUCK JOHN MCCAIN, you hypocritical piece of shit!! They applaud this phony like he is some great statesman when he is one of the biggest phonies out there. A spoiled frat boy whose navy brass father kept him in Annapolis when he should have been booted, who flew his jet like a cowboy and got a crew member killed, and who married into one of the richest families in Arizona so he doesn't even need government healthcare. (BTW they lead separate lives).
I live in Arizona and am on the ACA so yes I am especially pissed. And for those who say, like he does that this is only a procedural vote, they will now pass a bill that will gut the ACA (Arizona was one of the red states that expanded Medicaid so thousands will be affected here) and this lying POS and the rest of the repuke POS will say it will be better, knowing they are lying. Hero? No McCain is a phony piece of shit. FUCK HIM!!!

(54,477 posts)McCain makes a rousing, emotional speech about partisanship blocking the Senate's work, and how the Senate is there to do the people's business, and is equal to, rather than beholden to, the president, and then tows the line like a good little junior turtle on a leash, and votes for the beginning of the end of health coverage for tens of millions of Americans. While he is getting the best care available for a disease that has no cure, he voted to pave the way to deny coverage, and thus treatment, to millions that will be afflicted with conditions that ARE curable--IF treated.
If not ONE Democrat voted with McCain, you'd think he'd get the hint, after the speech he made. But the speech is what McCain wants to be remembered by. Too bad. His vote is what he'll be remembered by. When courage was needed, he backed down.

(343 posts)On the Sunday shows it was all concern about McCain and his illness. Which was fine, but what they did not say was that he has top healthcare from the government. Now this was after the Sunday shows discussing how 20 million or so people will lose their healthcare under the GOP plan. So it is tragic McCain has cancer, but he has healthcare. What about the average person, who gets cancer and has no insurance? They did not talk about that. The unstated view was, hey, McCain is a national treasure but Joe nobody can just take his chances if he gets cancer. Healthcare is a right only if you work for the government or can afford it. If not, tough luck pal! Sucks to be you!
McCain really lost me when Trump insulted his war record. While Trump was jumping into bed with hot blondes, McCain was getting the rope treatment in Hanoi. When Trump insulted him, he should have called Trump the ass clown he is and dedicated the rest of his life to opposing Trump. We know how that worked out.

McCain voted to let a bill be discussed. And made a specific statement that he would not vote for the bill as it is. He made a reasoned yet passionate appeal to work across the aisle and to reinstate some semblance of bipartisanship.
I won't slur anyone in this thread, but I will say some of your comments are disgusting and not what I have come to expect from the majority of liberals I've encountered here over the years.

If he can somehow declare a quorum present with only Republicans in attendance, he'll do it. Today's vote was the equivalent of a vote to put Pandora's box in the Senate chamber. Sure the vote was not a vote to open the box, but if no one ever intended to do that, then there was no reason to vote to put it there in the first place, was there?
