http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/trump-murkowski-vote-motion-to-proceedPresident Donald Trump on Wednesday morning singled out Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) for her votes against debate on a Obamacare repeal and against the Senates replacement bill, saying the senator let Republicans down.
Murkowski was one of two Republican senators who voted against a motion to proceed to debate on Obamacare repeal Tuesday, though her defection did not prevent Republicans from clearing that procedural hurdle. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) also voted against the motion to proceed, but her opposition to beginning debate had long been solidified. It was an open question going into the vote Tuesday afternoon which lawmakers and how many would vote against moving to debate.
After voting against the motion to proceed Tuesday afternoon, Murkowski released a statement calling on Republicans to hold hearings on health care.
I have repeatedly said that healthcare reform, and especially major entitlement reform, should go through the committee process where stakeholders can weigh in and ideas can be vetted in a bipartisan forum, she said in the statement. I voted no today to give the Senate another chance to take this to the committee process.

So, Trump takes on Murkowski.....I hope Murkowski gets real mad at Trump, ..and at McConnell too, because the bill did not...."go through the committee process where stakeholders can weigh in and ideas can be vetted in a bipartisan forum".....................
........Point of information for all.....Obamacare did indeed go through the committee process as Murkowski has described. There was input for all sides...and input was also given by outside interests such as doctors, hospitals, insurance providers, nurses..etc.. While Obamacare did take awhile to get passed, I recall that all sides of this issue were discussed, and amendments were added to make the new program palatable to as many interests as possible.....One more for ..good times sake.....................................
and...........
..Obamacare, has worked, no matter what those jackasses say...that law, Affordable Care Act, has saved thousands of lives and prevented much pain and suffering. Helped families to deal with major illnesses!!!!
.....and Murkowski knows it..as do all of us....

(38,454 posts)2. Yes, ...Murkowski may be under the bus...but remember this.
She will get up, and she will recover from the hit. And she will not like being " thrown under the bus". Senators do not like being singled out like that. And this lady is not a new senator. Lisa Murkowski has been a senator since 2002. ... Let's see 15 years.... So after a while, senators deserve "respect" and being thrown "under the bus" is not exactly ......."respect"...
and that is "Good News"...because Murkowski will fight harder against Trump, and this idiotic bill after ..."being thrown under the bus.."
