As a retired servicewoman I know what it's like first hand to have asshole(s) tell you that you're not fit to serve. Especially from a gaping asshole who has never once done one honorable service for this country.

We all served with LGBT service members in the military - and it was never a big deal until there was someone (straight or otherwise) who couldn't just "Grow the F*** Up".
Adults are Adults, and they do their jobs to the best of their abilities, no matter what they are or what sexual equipment they have.

BTW, my off-ship roommate back in 1980 while on active duty was one of the original Norton Sound 19...which quickly became 11 once the ACLU became involved, then became 8 when it went finally to Courts-Martial, which ended up with two convicted. Strangely, one wasn't lesbian but very young, naïve and easily intimidated into confessing, and the other was a snitch sent by NIS to "find lesbians" instead of going to Leavenworth for violent assault (she bragged about biting a SP's ear off while being arrested during a bar fight), but she was so seriously mentally unstable, they charged her anyway and found her guilty, just to kick her out.

Out of the original 19, only about 7 were in lesbian relationships (perhaps another 4 were bi), and only 2 lesbians actually ended up as part of the Norton Sound 8 Courts-Martial.
