I think he did it to distract from the fact that his desire to rip away health care from the poor (and lower taxes on the rich) is floundering.

It makes no sense on its face. There's no timeline, no details, really no policy at all. NOBODY saw this coming, including the Pentagon. He's reduced to hurling feces now.

Rachel tonight speculated that maybe it's a distraction aimed specifically at all the Sessions fans who are angry at how he's being treated. He's throwing them a bone with one of their pet issues so maybe they won't be quite as mad? Who knows with Trump.

From what?
I wonder if it is more than the Mueller investigation? Maybe Putin is really pissed at him for not removing sanctions and Trumpy is scared and freaking out....

It wasn't thought out at all, but then, what is with this asshole.

Some of the pundits tonight, even a repub one, complained that the GOP senate stood by Trump while he insulted minorities, women, disabled people, the IC, the judiciary, but when he goes after one of their own, that's the line. I'll bet if Sessions were a dem it wouldn't be a line. The GOP Congress are a bunch of fucking power-hungry cowards willing to do whatever filthy, dirty thing they have to, to get what they want. When are the dems going to wake up to that?

how the conservative media is turning against Trump. It was because of Sessions. The conservative media seems him as one of their own.

I don't know specifically which "conservative media" outlets they were talking about, but I know Drudge is one of them.

the base which is ok with his attacks on women, minorities, pussy grabbing, bleeding from the face, attacks on veterans , russian corruption and everything else.

but going after the bigot piece of shit racist was making them upset.

but that would be connected to the possibility that he might fire Sessions and this would be to distract or rather give them something in exchange for that move.
