Now that job is to save Mister Trump, they all work for Mister Trump.

everyone should be protecting the paranoid President, NOT Americans! Who the hell do these people think they are? Why do they think I hired them? Certainly NOT to make "America Great Again". That was just a stupid slogan to keep them in line. The NERVE of those people!

Cons want to believe they're the smartest person in the room and they're susceptible to flattery because of it. Two Scoops is not... shall we say... at the apex of his powers and discernment anymore.

Not that I trust the Mooch, but hiring him for the comm dir took at least a week. Probably 3, given when Spicey got really freakin' squirrelly. Mooch had plenty of time to scrub his Tweets before he took the job. Leaving them up until the spotlight was on him could be strategy.

Now that I think about it, Seth Myers (I think), did a segment last night showing Mooch imitating Dt's hand gestures. Could be mockery, right down to his stated emphasis on hair and make-up, plus the orange-bronzer make-up he has obviously been using that approximates the shade of turd orange. He then states he stabs people in the front, he's a front stabber (actual quote), (unlike turd who is a back-stabber).

It's 80% pseudoscience and 10% misinterpretation of mirror neuron theory and 10% exploitation of acculturation (two people who grew up in the same place at the same time will use the same idioms, have similar motion characteristics, and other very subtle body and spoken language cues that make them feel more comfortable with each other than with someone from elsewhere; if someone can exploit that, in theory, they can increase someone's comfort level. This does not work in labs.)

But con artists often believe it, and really motivated con-artists try to use it. Sometimes consciously, sometimes just because they've been conditioned to see it as successful strategy. And if con artists can convince their marks that it works, they will often fall for it. It's up there with polygraph for bullshit.

***

I think sometime last summer, we slipped through an interstellar boundary into a lower probability sector of the multiverse. Ever since then, increasing bullshit has been accumulating.

The nice thing about fiction is that it has to make sense. Not so much reality. Political satire is ruined for a generation.

The only glitch being turd is a malignant narcissist, and at some point everyone gets thrown under the bus. I believe people do things for a reason, but with mentally incompetent there just isn't enough predictive value sometimes. Behavior isn't based on a rationale that is commonly perceived or that normally motivates to the degree of madness.
The satire is getting dark.

The moment of his introductory presser, you could tell that he was mirroring T for the camera. That was what made it so clearly performance art for an audience of one.
