I have refused to buy that crap for years. Their food is less than mediocre.

All the more reason.

(FYI For subs, I like DiBella's in this area, though I cannot speak for their ethical practices, I just do not know. At least they make some real bread as opposed to that crap JJs uses, which they rip the crumb out of anyway. Always thought that was weird.)

I know, somewhat irrelevant, the message is more important than my tastes!

Those sinfully rich Cajun fries cooked in peanut oil are just too scary good!

Burgers are good too, but I hate that they are only cooked well done, but I understand the reason.

I have to make a conscious effort to stay away!

I will also say that it is not a good place to buy Hot Dogs, FWIIW.

I just need to keep away from deep fired foods these days.

My aging body gets upset.

6. Not to mention they force their employees to sign non-compete agreements

So they can't even leave their crappy minimum wage jobs for other (crappy minimum wage) jobs at, say, Potbelly's.

Like making a sandwich is some kind of trade secret.

BTW: I didn't read the linked article - I'm a vegetarian because I can't stand animal cruelty - but thank you for raising awareness!
