So is Trump preparing to throw his presidency into 5th gear insanity?...

Last edited Sat Jul 29, 2017, 12:09 AM - Edit history (1)

It sounds ludicrous to say that they aren't already in 5th gear. But as he replaces more and more career politicians in his cabinet with true wacko yes men. Well. I have a feeling we haven't reached peak insanity yet. Less and less holds him back within his inner circle from going nuclear.

I am now fully convinced that this guy has co-opted the Republican party and now is in the process of ridding himself of the GOP, as fast as he can. His hard core base wants this; they want their own party, essentially, and he is using them to attain power and control. I'm also convinced that some if not most in the GOP have figured this out.

The Republican party has been so out of control, so extreme for so long, that it was ripe for the pickin'. The most extreme and vulnerable elements of it came to him like iron shavings to a magnet. We about to witness something historic happen as what's left of the Republican party has to reinvent itself to adjust. I always knew they'd have to do it at some point but had no idea just how bizarre and even dangerous the circumstances would have to be.

I feel that as despicable as so many of the Republicans are even most of them have to hold their nose when supporting Trump. Most would prefer to screw over the public in a smaller way and remain low key, fat cat, republicans. They have no problem with shafting the poor, stealing their life savings and worse. But I feel most would prefer that some semblance of America remained as it has. Some nominal sense of democracy, and a country that at least looked and acted much as it always has, more than anything so that they could live out the rest of their lives in comfortable peace with their millions, while the masses continue to suffer in quit ignorant silence. Most don't want to exactly put a literal torch to the whole establishment not because they don't want the riches, oh no that they want that in spades, but because most are at least smart enough to realize that come the end of the day they still have to live among the ruins. Let's face it most could afford to move overseas but most would prefer not to. So in Trump they have an internal moral dilemma. They have finally been handed the true Carte Blanche they have been looking for for the past 3+ decades. But they have gotten more than they bargained for. If they could have designed their ideal candidate it probably would have looked more like the current control of both houses but with someone more like Mike Pence as POTUS. Instead in Trump they have elected someone more like the Joker from Batman, only of course the Joker was smart.

But the problem is that for all the destruction that Trump is doing to the GOP, and to america itself, he still stands for a LOT of what the GOP would like to stand for. Agreeing to impeach him would mean turning their backs on a lot of what they have come to stand for. But doing so is also the only way they are going to save their country. The question is, are they willing to look at themselves in the mirror in this light? Are they willing to go through that dark night of the soul?

The man can't think more than 140 characters ahead of time. But he probably does want to act even more wildly, with even less regard to sanity, or safety. He's removing the few people left who would even bother to tap him on the shoulder and say "uhh maybe that's not the best idea".
