Men who fought and died face down in the muck on battlefields in France, Germany and Belgium to end Nazi tyranny. Women who laid bare the false notion of what "women's work" was by picking up rivot guns to build the weapons that ultimately won the war, while simultaneously holding together families on the home front. Pain and sacrifice. I admire them all and have nothing but contempt for those who disparage them. Shame on you.

(4,898 posts)Is the 29th Infantry Memorial highway. The 29th Infantry was one of the first units to invade Omaha Beach on D-Day and suffered horrible casualties. Bedford,VA suffered the greatest number of men lost, as they were part of one unit of the 29th that suffered over 90% casualties.
The brave men of the 29th Infantry fought against Nazis. REAL Nazis, not like the pack of wannabee snowflakes with bad haircuts who desecrated Charlottesville and Virginia with their hate and white nationalist BS.

Every single one of them would probably gladly kick off their gravestones to stomp hell out of the neo-Nazi's at Charlottesville today.
