Trump said what he really believed. not what his staff told him to say. Even if some of them do believe that its all on Trump. He owns it.

from the AP of Trump putting notes back in his inside coat pocket. The printing was helpfully large to accomodate 71 yr old eyes and could be clearly read as notes relating to what he said.

The info put out that Trump "went rogue" was entirely disinformation.
