Congress CANNOT wait on Robert Mueller

It is most unfortunate and, quite disheartening, that moral cowardice runs rampant through Congress. But we know why it is that way. Politicians, by their nature, are very calculating. Courage equals isolation for a Representative or a Senator. Yet, at some point, they all must look in the mirror and confront their own humanity, their own conscience and determine when enough is enough. Just how much of their soul, their very humanity are they willing to sell off?

It is my opinion that all politics should cease. While I applaud the Special Council's investigations, we know that they will drag on for years, while America burns, before conclusions are made. We cannot afford, as a country to wait years, while the dangerous man in the Oval Office continues to run, like a bull in a china shop. I have seen eleven presidents in my lifetime. And, while, at times, I have strongly disagreed with a few on policy, at times even publicly protesting, I never felt that we had a madman at the helm. Until now, with this president. I am not naive to think that politics will actually cease, that Democrats and Republicans will join together, that they will, in the strongest language publicly rebuke Donald Trump, and commence the process of impeachment. But that is exactly what they should do.

Trump has, in numerous instances, by his actions and his words, given Congress enough evidence to begin impeachment proceedings. No need to wait for Mueller. Trump has violated his oath of office. He swore an oath to protect and defend us from harm, from all forces, whether they be foreign or domestic. Trump has intentionally and aggressively violated the oath he took. Those of us who pay attention know all of the ways he and his minions have done so. The list of transgressions is much too long to print here, and that is precisely my point. From the race baiting West Wing, to overt actions toward voter suppression, to insane threats of nuclear war, to the dangerous alienation of our allies, etc...there is enough, even by his bizarre behavior , including the use of the 25th Amendment to put an abrupt stop to the madness, and I do not use that term loosely.

I have been in a constant state of political shock since Trump won his party's nomination. Every day of his presidency has brought an new jolt to my sensibilities, like an earthquake and it's many aftershocks. It doesn't take a psychologist to recognize a megalomaniacal personality, to recognize behavior that gives no one any doubt to amoral character, to recognize acomplsive liar, and to recognize a riot inciting racist. I implore politicians to take a really good look at where this country is heading, and while they are at it, take a good look at themselves and realize that they have, not only the power to change it now, but enough evidence, if they have the courage to do so. Ask yourself just what does it mean to be a human being? What does it mean to be a responsible American leader?

All of it. And, in the bigger picture, quite cheaply much of the time.

Until there is a majority to take steps to remove Trump from power, there is no LEGAL way to remove him from office...

Even if Mueller makes several airtight cases for Trumps guilt in money-laundering, collusion, whatever - nothing will happen if republican-majority ruled Congress decides NOT to impeach!
