According to Medlar, the two parties agreed in the meeting that the rally will be barricaded by police.
The police are going to be there in full force, Medlar told WBZ-TVs Beth Germano. Theyre going to have physical barriers around the Parkman Bandstand separating the rallygoers from counter-protesters to make sure that everyone stays safe. Theyre going to be escorting people in and escorting people out. If things get out of hand, they will evacuate people.
Medlar said no weapons will be permitted, and anyone can be searched.
They will not be allowing people to bring weapons of any kind, anything that could be used as a weapon, so blunt instruments like flagpoles, he said. They will be allowing people to bring flags, just not attached to any pole or stick.

(111,270 posts)finally getting Louise Day Hicks off the School Committee. She'd had a long reign of being an arch conservative foe of decent education, making sure the schools kept getting dumbed down. She led the fight against busing and the tidal wave of disgust at the sight of people throwing rocks as buses full of little kids finally broke her.
Good really does arise from evil once in a while.

(12,265 posts)I agree with your thinking, but we have to follow what is required or they say "see we got a permit they didn't they showed up for violence".

(111,270 posts)but they'll unchain the cops they keep in the basement of the District 4 cop shop and feed on raw meat for the occasion and likely put them four deep between the two groups. The fistfights will be later, when the official rally breaks up, Vanguard America is going to want to ditch those plywood shields and Dockers before they go out drinking. They might want to keep their tin pot helmets, though.
The cops might have voted for Dopey Don rather than a woman, but they've got no love for Nazis. The home grown variety of skinhead punk is quite bad enough, thank you.
Well, unless the city has changed drastically since I left, which I sincerely doubt.
Love your description of District 4 cops. Yeah, it is the "after" that my friend and I thought about...plus who wants to be underground on the T with those fuggers. We decided to sit this one out and do lunch and wine instead.

(63,221 posts)Totally fits the profile. Look at this guy. I hate to sound cruel (and I like dorks, but not racist, misogynistic dorks), but most of these guys either can't get a decent job or a date if their lives depended upon it. In one way or another, almost all of them are complete losers.
