My letter of not quite resignation

By Alexandra Petri
August 25 at 12:06 PM

Dear Mr. President,

I can say it in no uncertain terms: Everything this administration does makes me sick.

I am absolutely disgusted with everything going on the White House right now. Several times daily, I must run out of a meeting of the National Economic Council to vomit into a wastepaper basket ... This cannot go on any longer.

Everyone has told me that I should resign. Random members of the media. My wife. People whom I did not even realize knew my name ...

But then, on the other hand, there is the theoretical possibility of passing tax reforms that might lower the base tax rate for corporations ...

We must protect the most fragile and vulnerable among us. And if there is anything I have learned from the past decade of Supreme Court decisions, it is that the most fragile and vulnerable among us are corporations ...

My regrets for lacking the appropriate words to express my horror with the last bit.

We must protect the most fragile and vulnerable among us. And if there is anything I have learned from the past decade of Supreme Court decisions, it is that the most fragile and vulnerable among us are corporations ...

and prevented the president and the american people to have the SC justice they voted for.

That going forward very soon all SC decisions will attack minorities, working people and the environment.

ALL

BTW I cant read the article and assume the last sentence about protecting corps is sarcasm, but not sure.

5. they're not "people". a corporation is a "person" in the specific, legal sense.

which is a rather different concept than being a human being.

that they can do things like enter into legal contracts and litigate in civil court.

the plural of "person" in the legal sense is "persons".

"people" only refers to actual human brings, never corporations.

and maybe send it to him on every birthday before then. Few things skewer a public figure so deftly.
