I say someone is 'one in infinity', not one inna million. As in immeasurable. Not finite.

(9,766 posts)The GFS models have kept shifting west today.
The strength of the ridge that develops next week will have a huge impact, as will troughs. We'll have a much better idea by next Tuesday or Wednesday, but for right now, an OTS path is decreasing in likelihood.

(2,419 posts)This morning's GFS has the hurricane making landfall, as a slightly less intense storm than yesterday, but nonetheless as a major hurricane, somewhere along the mid-Atlantic coast. The storm's predicted forward motion has increased, which would result in a much more severe storm surge. This looks like Sandy 50 miles further south-only much more powerful, which would be devastating to the entire NJ coast, Delaware, Maryland and the Chesapeake. This has landfall Sunday morning around 8 A.M.. Still 8 days out so a lot can change.....

(19,956 posts)My brother who lives near WPB is currently getting the hurricane shutters up, and he's been looking at the various models. He showed me one that looks like another following Irma, which may be hitting Washington.
