40 Jobs bills passed the house?

An old friend has posted as much on FB. Am I missing something?

His entire post:

Blaze, you are aware are you not, that upwards of 40 job bills passed by the house have yet to make it to a vote in the senate. It depends on whose ox is being gored. So are you as equally upset at the senate? or do you believe they are doing the right thing. When Romney wins and we have the senate and house you will see dynamic job growth and a solid recovery. if we don't well Think Rahman noodles for the next 4 years.

Blaze, you are quick on the keyboard. i try not to believe most of what is on the internet, And i'm not good at flinging half truths. so you must be right and the GOP have passed no job bills and if they did the dems would bring them to a vote. conversely The senate sends bushels of job bills that never make it to a vote on the floor of the house. Republicans have horns and are agents of the devil. that may be the case but still stock up on the Rahman noodles.

And 15 min. later:

so I Googled the topic 13 million to choose from. you choose the one on top (referencing the CrooksandLiars link). I really don't have time to do that kind of extensive research.

And another person responded:

The biggest problem with the entire budget is that under a federallist concept, started by Nixon, states were required to administer federally mandated programs as they saw fit, they'd get an allotment from Washington. Over the course of time, Congress added more beneifits and requirements, and didn't fund them. The states can't print money. so in order to comply, they tax more, since they have to have balanced budgets. A great example is drunk driving. Your town or state police get $100K per officer (which doesn't cover all costs) as long as the officer or the department writes enough DUI citations. The program expires, the stte or municipality is stuck with the payroll. It's the same for Medicaid, Highways, education, etc. You add payroll and programs, and then the funding disappears or goes away. The entire budget has to be taken in this perspective, since politically, they've cleverly masked the psending mandates and gone on to create new ones, ever increasing and shifting tax loads.

They're blowing smoke.

There is a picture, a RWer on another board I frequent posted it. It shows Boner next to a table with a bunch of sheets of paper neatly stacked on it, supposedly the "30 jobs bills" passed by the house. There was a link to show the text of them, but I didn't go there to actually check it out. The picture did not show any headlines or text on the sheets, just piles of paper.

Keep in mind that the title of a specific bill does not have to have anything to do with the content, really. I imagine there are dozens of bills out there labeled "The Tax Reducing Act of .............." that really only reduce tax rates on corporations or strip regulations and protections.

6. The Republicans call any bill they put forward a jobs bill...this is a joke...

For instance--

Today, however, offers a bit of a twist. Instead of just killing popular and worthwhile jobs legislation, Senate Republicans will also get a vote on their alternative jobs package, intended to show that GOP leaders have something constructive to offer when it comes to job creation.

They apparently haven’t read their proposal if they think this is constructive.

The GOP’s legislation, in addition to providing some highway funding, would cut $40 billion in discretionary spending and implement a cockamamie House Republican proposal known as the REINS Act. As ThinkProgress Justice editor Ian Millhiser wrote, the REINS Act would cripple the government’s ability to regulate just about anything.

To call this a jobs bill is an insult to the language. Gutting the EPA is not a serious proposal to lower the unemployment rate.

Remind your friend that jobs and prosperity have always been more plentiful under Democrats--

How big a difference does the president’s party make on investors? As Drummond shows, $1,000 invested in a hypothetical S&P 500 tracking fund beginning when JFK was president and measured only during subsequent Democratic presidencies would have yielded $10,920 by the time the market closed yesterday. Alternatively, $1,000 invested when Richard Nixon was president and measured only during Republican presidencies would have yielded $2,087 on the last day of George W. Bush’s presidency.

What was in each bill that actually did something to create jobs?

If they did, than I will say job well done - otherwise.......

A couple of the bills mentioned above became law in the JOBS bill that legalized crowdfunding and some changes to the Securities laws. The JOBS bill is a very poorly named bill that is going to cause some fraud down the road

When you're talking with someone who has swallowed that lie hook, line and sinker, you need a much simpler explanation. They wouldn't bother reading all of that.

To tell the truth, I have no idea how to really explain it other than:

"IT IS A LIE!
The so called jobs bills they mention are singular bills that either:
1 Damage the environment
2 Puts down the middle class
3 Gives more money to those that don't need it
4 Is Un-Christian

They don't qualify for a jobs bill because they don't really relate to jobs"

Then, I can forward that link.
