I couldn't sleep last night. Awake from 2 am until 4 am.

Worried about missile attacks on the west coast and Hurricane Irma hitting the east coast. Devastation on both coasts with
an incompetent, incapable, ignorant, bullying, traitorous con man occupying the White House. Fuck. We are so fucked.
I have very bad feelings about Trump and the use of nuclear weapons. The only thing that I can see preventing him
from firing off nukes is a military coup. And how fucked will we be if that happens? I said to my husband last night
that maybe one of the reasons Kelly took the job was to get close enough to prevent Trump from firing off nukes.

How is everybody else feeling this morning?

Worrying is the absolutely least productive thing anyone can do, and it saps energy and health besides. Instead, sit down and write lots of paper and ink letters to all of your congress critters and reps, stating all of your concerns and demanding action. Every senator I've heard speak on this says that actual physical mail is the most effective tool. And after ten letters, your conscience will experience a big sigh of relief for you will have actually done something fruitful, and sleep will come.

I think Billy Graham, at least for many years, had a sincere calling. He helped a lot of people get through rough times, like addiction, before addiction was properly labelled a disease and started being treated as one. I think BG helped a lot of people change their behaviors so they would be better spouses, employees, parents, citizens. Yes, he made money off of it too, but nothing like what his kids have cranked up. Sure, he was a bigot and not a perfect person. the truths about all that is out there, yet they continue to support, perpetrate, and feed lies, innuendo, and misinformation to the masses who support them and all other RW miscreants.

There needs to be activism against the false, fake, and fascist arm of the media that continues to endanger the lives of millions the existence of the imperfect but striving democracy that has sustained us thus far. We need to bombard their outlets with the truths we know, we need rail against their propaganda all over social media. We need to garner banners and signs against their outlets as they do against the media that Trump hates. We need to begin in churches and synagogues and mosques everywhere we are present to call out the bigots, the religious pretenders, the false doctrines and the lying cheating greedy men and women who lead these organizations and defame the very religions they claim to represent. In other words, we need to begin to speak to them where they are, no on Internet boards alone but right where they live, work, and worship. They will never hear some truths otherwise. And yes, I know we will never be able to win all of them over, but it just might make a 1 or 2 % voting difference in primaries and national elections. It's time to take our fight to the market places, the bathrooms, the gangbangers, the social movements that are self-centered and single-eyed in their focus and get them understand they are in the boat with us against the fascist state. We need to remind them or inform them in some instances that we are indeed, STRONGER TOGETHER.

39. As for the "missile attacks on the west coast", in my view that has the least probability of
Mon Sep 4, 2017, 10:58 AM

occurring.

I am on the West coast, but the only way I could see NK actually attempting to use a nuclear weapon is if they were attacked preemptively. NK is well aware if they made such a preemptive attack, they would cease to exist.

The countries that would be at greatest risk would be South Korea, Japan, and other countries in that region. NK would need to simultaneously launch massive multiple attacks on a whole host of countries, and it is doubtful they have that capability. On the other hand, the only thing the U.S. and its allies would need to focus their efforts on is just NK.

While a risk exists that something accidental might occur that could trigger something, I think a bigger risk exists that the trump administration might do a pre-emptive attack on NK, though I do believe Mattis and Kelly would do what they need to do to prevent that.

We have been here before. The Cuban Missile Crisis, was far worse than what this is.

China, Russia, India, Pakistan, and the U.S. also have nuclear capability. Why would you be more worried about NK than those other countries? It isn't in any country's interest to use nuclear weapons.

That our country would stop anything truly bad, like someone using nuclear weapons to destroy someone else. I really did think that when enough leaders and their subordinates worked together that it would be for mutual benefit of survival because each has to survive in order for all to survive nuclear wars. I believed in the United Nations as a bastion of rationality in a volatile world because it's populated by people from that world. That cooler heads would prevail.

That belief is faltering now. It never occurred to me that all it takes is two crazy leaders to overrule the rest of the entire world. I am profoundly worried now.

I have never felt as helpless as I do now and it's because my country is changing into a rogue nation. In spite of me and of most of the nations population. A mere quarter of the populations is now calling the shots. The worst of our citizens if you ask me. Trump is doing their bidding just to keep their support.

I truly hope Trump's generals are the cooler heads this world needs right now.

I did not do my usual evening. I read a book i found on my shelf earlier in the day. THE law of Attraction. Then meditated for 20 minutes. Listened to spa music before going to sleep. I took my magnesium and lite aspirin. Slept ok. Felt bone aches from the rainy weather. Rubbed A535 on me. Slept until 9.
I did an old Japanese relaxation before sleeping on my hand for worry.
Worrying is like being on a rocking chair. You don't go anywhere.
Wednesday night is a full moon. Changes coming for those who see mindfulness. I think it is true that we must change inward to be able to change our surroundings, I have fretted over Trump and the Republicans for so long. Meditation Does help. I am not stopping my observations of the world events but being aware of what is happening. Last night was the best I slept in a long time. No TV news or Internet.

He has been to the UN to lobby members on the topic. He's been to DC to lobby representatives on the topic and is thinking about making

So "the stuff" that's going on gets talked about at our house and my husband takes seriously the idea that he might--just might--be able to
do something that will help prevent nuclear war. I tend to be rather cynical about it--certainly with someone like Trump in the White House--
but it doesn't mean I don't hope that my husband's activities and those of his colleagues in the group will have some positive effect.

I am still taking a pain pill every night trying to sleep at least 4 hours since my knee replacement surgery in mid-July.

I had finally started being able to get more than 4 hours of sleep at a time about a week ago; last night I was right
back to waking up less than 4 hours asleep and I know it was worrying about nuclear war and natural disasters with
an incompetent, ignorant a$$hole in the White House-- not my knee--that kept me awake for two hours.

that's gone now. For one thing, the bomb looked like the first one that worked properly. Bully for them. However, the resulting 4.1 quake in the same place indicates there was a lot of tunnel collapse, meaning monitoring stations in S. Korea and Japan and offshore can get an idea of what their program is really like. Other blasts were well sealed within deep mountain tunnels and this one allowed material to escape. At the very least, they lost part of their testing facility and will need to rebuild.

Likely their program is costing the people of Korea even more than the Soviet program did in contaminated materials and horribly shortened lives. The US program was bad enough. Theirs was worse.

I doubt Donny will get to play with the button unless NK lobs a warhead and it actually connects with somebody.

Not even two years to go.

Still might get there.

Just take it day by day.

I told everybody last holiday season to enjoy it.

The next one might not be so good.
