China will not allow .."....chaos and war on the Korean Peninsula"

https://www.democraticunderground.com/10141859560

.Don Viejo put this one up

What does this mean?......It means, that Trump/Dumpf should keep his hands off the Korean Peninsula...We will handle the fellow in North Korea....It is that simple...We will handle him....hands off....We will keep him from starting a war...Trust us...

Why?...That is their "sphere of influence"...The fellow in North Korea has been warned by China..China can handle him,,,,stay away...

Now, China is a big, important country. Lots of people, lots of stuff. A major country. They do business with us, and we do business with them...Trust them....they can handle him..stay away from our China's area....

Now...that ain't too hard to understand, is it?....If I can understand it, maybe others can...What do you think?

2. I believe that's doubtful.

Their entire economy is dependent upon global stability. They don't want to risk upsetting that and bringing about domestic instability.
Besides, they know a move on South Korea is guaranteed to bring in the U.S.

He might just swap South Korea for some magic beans, while making China solely responsible for peace on the Korean Peninsula; i.e. make Kim their problem, as well as making the safety of the South Koreans their problem.

The warning was for all ..."We will handle North Korea, and it won't start a war." "We will handle the crazy young man,,,,You handle the crazy old man".....Basically saying in my opinion,..no war this time..

5. Instead of seize, replace our 40k US troops with 40k Chinese troops

Would Kim attack South Korea then? He already has Chinese troops on his borders, this is just another 40k. Sphere of influence.....

8. China and South Korea are huge trading partners.

And they both have much more to lose if North Korea falls apart than we do.

U.S.A. status as a "super power" expired in the twentieth century.

We still spend money as if we are a superpower, but our military might is just as absurdly expensive and as mediocre as our health care system is.

7. China will not send their troops to attack US troops if there is a war on the Korean penninsula.

This isn't the 1950s. The US is China's biggest and most important trading partner. There is zero chance anyone in leadership roles in China see protecting North Korea as worth having problems with the US.

9. You are correct. It's a no-brainer. Imagine China threatening a war in Sonora or British Columbia?

need to find and talk to a real Korean War Vet. They will tell you first hand,it is unwinnable first because of the alliances between the Chinese Military and the North Korean Military. Secondly, the casualties would be in the millions for South Korea and every inch of the DMZ is a no man zone ,if one doubts, just ask any Service Person who has had the unlucky short straw draw to serve in the DMZ.

The Little Napoleonic POS that is running North Korea just wants his Donnie Trump piece of the World's Recognition. The Guy is by no means Stupid. And he really wants a way to go hide under his rock, and still keep his strong man Image.

China will not let this mess continue and neither will South Korea.

As Japan capitulated, Korea, a Japanese protectorate since 1905 was placed under American rule as per an agreement between the US, the brits and ... Chiang Kai-shek because he was still representing China (another 4 years before he was kicked out by Mao.). Meanwhile, Russia pushed from the North, wanting to oppose US expansion. Also remember that Russia declared war on Japan just two (2) days before Hiroshima... That was obviously too late to sit at the table, so they had to push militarily.
After that, the cold war took over and so forth.
Now, China is basically hell-bent on rejecting strictly anything that has the name Chiang Kai-shek attached to it. And not without reason, as the maoists were the one paying the price for pushing Japan out of their country.
Turns out, China also paid a high price for the Korean war (180,000 vs. 60,000 casualties) as Russia sorta withdrew from it. Guess Stalin didn't give much of a fuck about Korea aside from pissing off the US. His resources, beat up by the war in Europe (20 million casualties on the Russian side), were better used elsewhere.. If China could do it, so be it. So china basically went at it without aerial support while being bombed by western planes and just about 1 year after having taken over their country from Japan and CKS.
That's 2 reasons why China has a stake in the issue.
The Korean problem reduces itself to a China problem. There is no solution without negotiation with China on all related issues. I don't see the clown or any of his miserable entourage being able to even begin doing that.

How the heck would we react if another country was coming after Mexico?

Not well.

"The Korean problem reduces itself to a China problem. There is no solution without negotiation with China on all related issues. I don't see the clown or any of his miserable entourage being able to even begin doing that."

Been saying that all along, these half witted children don't have even the first capacity to engage in the diplomacy to deal with this.

One of the many bottom line reasons why any person with the first fucking brain cell voted Hillary.
