I'll be heading to work shortly, and I anticipate that Ms. Roberts will issuing her stadard GOP-friendly assessment of the situation. The quesion is how, exactly, will she spin it so that Bain looks less like the disaster that it is?
Two ways, I'm guessing:
1. "Obama has to be careful not to overplay his hand." She'll scold Obama for being to aggressive with the facts about Romney's tenure at Bain, instead of being a good little docile Democrat. She'll warn that he risks turning off the all-important "independent voters" in the all-important "swing states."
2. "The polls haven't shown much imapct among likely Romney voters." She'll claim that the impact of the Bain revelations will be minimal because everyone who would have votrd for Romney wouldn't vote for Obama in any case, no matter what.
This will all mesh with her ongoing narrative that this is a close race and Obama can't take anything for granted, etc. etc. etc.
She'll probably also touch on the fact that Romney has outspent Obama in his election campaign, identifying this as a potential timebomb for Obama if Rommey's rich friends don't shut off the taps.
So what do you think? How will the perennially Dem-scolding Roberts underscore her message that Obama faces a tough, tough, tough reelection?
