Ivanka Trump liked herself on fan Instagram photos as Trump moved to end DACA
Once upon a time, Ivanka Trump delighted in sharing immigrant success stories on her social media feed, as in the autobiography of Julissa Arce, a former undocumented immigrant who became a Wall Street executive.
“We love this story about an undocumented immigrant who worked her way up on Wall Street,” Ivanka tweeted in September 2015 about Arce’s book “My (Underground) American Dream.”
But Ivanka wasn’t tweeting anything to show support for immigrants and other workers over the Labor Day weekend, as President Donald Trump contemplated having his administration end the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which gives protection to undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.
Instead of tweeting anything regarding her father’s latest controversial policy, Ivanka spent Labor Day morning liking photos of herself on fans’ Instagram accounts, according to Politico reporter Madeline Conway.
The AV Club reported that Ivanka found these photos of herself, from “such reliable Instagram sources” as @OnlyIvanka and @IvankaTrunp (sic), and deemed them “to be pleasing in her sight.” But this kind of activity is nothing knew for the first daughter. She’s been caught before liking Instagram photos of herself on fan pages.
