That has the entire state - minus the panhandle - in the cone. We have several people in our office with family in both Puerto Rico and Santo Domingo and we're very concerned about them right now. Everyone needs to listen to their local authorities and if they say evacuate - you need to go.

The bulk of the guidance now calls for
Irma to turn northward between 78W-80W, moving near or over the
Florida east coast or the northwestern Bahamas. The official
forecast has also been shifted eastward, but out of respect for the
previous forecast and the possibility the guidance may shift back
to the west, it lies to the left of the bulk of the guidance.
The
forecast now calls for landfall in south Florida between 96-120 h.
Users are reminded to not focus on the exact forecast track,
especially at the longer ranges, since the average NHC track errors
are about 175 and 225 statute miles at days 4 and 5, respectively.

Notice how the coast runs SE before reaching an easternmost extent and then curves back towards the SW.

Mar-a-Lago sits on the barrier island at that most concave easternmost point.

It is pretty exposed.

whose fault it is.

Anyway, it hasn't hit yet. He never blames anyone before the disaster actually happens, which is pretty smart. Wouldn't he look foolish to blame some group of Floridians, when the storm might miss Florida altogether.

If this storm hits Florida as shown on the OP, the damages will be catastrophic. The right side will whip through the SE Coastal cities and areas, including the upper Keys, Miami, Kendall, Fort Lauderdale and communities out to Sunrise/Plantation, West Palm Beach and Wellington, Belle Glade, Clewiston, the Treasure Coast, Okeechobee, Winter Haven, Space Coast, Orlando region and who knows from there.
The left side of the storm will devastate the Key West and the lower Keys, Naples, Fort Myers, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Clearwater - to name a few.
Just up to the Orlando area represents well over 50% of the state's 22 million people - all looking at a direct hit as of this morning (Wed.).
As horrible as we've seen in Houston and New Orleans, this one will join the ranks of the worst ever - until the next one.
There's nowhere to flee, other than fly out of the state.
Live from the Treasure Coast, Peace and stay safe.

It's making people panic more and it's only Wednesday. Our ground is already saturated from an unusually wet summer.
