You know why Obama's ad featuring Mitt singing "America the Beautiful" is so brilliant?

Obama is a master of something I admire greatly - the ability to make somebody look completely stupid in a very subtle way. He doesn't get all worked up about Mitt and his Bain activities, he just has Mitt doing what Mitt did, singing in a slightly off-key way and pandering to his base. With subtle typed text. The same goes for that "No Apologies" picture when Obama is smiling his 100 watt smile, you know, the one that always makes me smile when I see it.

pacing and subtlety of the entire ad was greatly applauded by people who know...I do realize POTUS has friends there but if it had been a bomb I imagine they would have pointed out the flaws.

like an uncaring, and possibly un-American ruthless bastard.

Listen to the video. As the video plays, Romney's singing is very haunting as we watch the images.

In other words, if Romney truly believed in the words he was singing - none of his anti-American events would have occurred.

Anyway, that's my take.

Romney sings the word "America" it shows a different country he has his money in!

Very effective visuals!

brilliant) is the way the audio quality seems to worsen as the image quality gets more grainy heading into the Bermudas\Caymans.

Form and content mesh and merge at the ironic level, i.e., America isn't really 'beautiful' with singers and corporate honchos like Mitt running amok.

The ad will be discussed many years from now, right along LBJ's "Daisy Petal" spot (which ran only once before it was pulled).
