and discarded in 2019. 2018 is the election year and it comes first. So in 2018 this helps the GOP.

They open up too many bad possibilities. I have used optically scanned ballots for the last 20 years and, imo, they are the way to go.

Here we are in the next MILLENIUM and we don't have a standardized voting form or method for the whole nation! ONE FORM - INDELIBLE PENS to mark those forms with! Also, exact same (type&brand) - non-electronic (computerized), tally machines to read the ballots.

How many other countries have the same mish-mash of voting hardware that we contend with???

so you got a receipt showing your vote? that is not proof the machine recorded that for the final tally.
a machine connected to another machine or the internet is also quite hackable. sending totals to a central processor is also a place where changes can be made, or at the central processor.

The first thing I posted on here after the election debacle was:

1. have a republican and a democrat counting votes and
2. go to paper ballots.

Congratulations North Carolina. May it come to pass sooner than later.

These electronic voting machines should be dropped immediately and the whole election process treated as a state of emergency - it needs to be fixed right away. It's like using your car after the brakes failed on you. Oh well... it's a big ship to turn. Hope it's not too late.
