Will Romney announce VP choice this week to avoid tax returns and Bain issues?

NY Times suggests he may announce Pawlenty this week. I'm guess if he does so, instead of waiting for the news-bang at the convention, it will be to distract us from the Bain and tax-return questions.

Next question: Will it work?

Unless he makes a "out of left field" choice it will share page 1 for one news day then it will be back to Mittens the tax dodger.
