My dad spent his whole life as a print journalist trying his level best to fair in his reporting despite his strong Democratic ties and views, and he was cited in the Congressional Record for his fairness by both right (Rep. Jerry Solomon of NY) and left (Sen. Pat Moynihan, also of NY).
He gagged at what passed for "reporting" from the far right, and if cancer hadn't killed him, the fact that Fox was allowed to call itself "news" probably would have. Although he worked for a paper in a small town in Republican upstate New York, he gained influence beyond his paper's scope, and was even elected president of the Gridiron Club, unheard of for a reporter from a small paper in a one-horse town.
The reason was that he was known for being fair, and because he bent over backwards never to report anything that could later turn out not to be factual. Fox takes great pains not only NOT to check their facts, but often to make them up. They not only don't try to hide it, they're proud of it.
The Democrats should treat Fox Noise with about the same attitude as mid-1930s German Synagogues treated representatives of Göbbels' Propaganda Ministry.
