by Jon Levine | 7:26 am, September 12th, 2017
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich took the stage at Fox & Friends on Tuesday to sound the alarm, warning that Trump was foundering (but, like, in a good way) and that tax cuts were essential, but there was a risk it would never get off the ground.
I think (Trump) is sincerely wresting with how do you make American great agin. I think he was very frustrated coming out of the Summer with the inability to get things done on a partisan basis. And I think there is a little bit of floundering here that may be creative and healthy. Healthy floundering is a nifty way to put it But Newt does have a PhD, so I guess well go with it.
I think for the Republicans there is one absolute total, imperative to pass a tax cut by Thanksgiving. I think Trump has every reason to be worried that they wont be able to do it, he warned.
Of course, with President Trump seemingly now more interested in working with Democrats, it remains very unclear whether Mitch and Paul and the rest of his Republican allies in Congress will be doing much of anything with Trump in the months ahead.

(10,499 posts)pay! Let's reduce the government's revenue even though we now have two humongous disasters to pay for. Let's do tax cuts despite all of this no matter that it is the opposite of what you should do!
Of course no one in the media is asking about the wisdom (or lack thereof) of cutting taxes as the deficit just broke $20 trillion according to one Republican Congressman this morning. He talked about tax cuts in the next breath as if the growing deficit would be reduced by cutting the government's ability to pay. He used the old growth of the economy from the tax cut argument that has proven wrong over and over and over and they didn't call him out! I get so sick of this shite!

He's a failed politician who was forced out of the House of Representatives and deserves not a single ear leaning his way!
