I'm all for promoting new blood. I get the argument. But I think Nancy is one of the most underrated politicians ever.

(17,984 posts)out of context statement and parroting people like Tim Ryan et al who have no solid plan but just want her out. I think most DUers are more adult about this than some congress people. It's these provocateurs stirring up trouble who need to be replaced, not Pelosi.

(5,730 posts)Very smart, savvy. I'm sure I'll get flack for this opinion. I thought it last night when the story was breaking. Oh shit, why are you increasing the odds it will be fucked.
You just don't get 90pc of a deal and brag, or even release it, until it is nailed, especially when you are dealing with an unpredictable opponent or asshole, here both. Treat it like fragile glass. I'm just going from experience in a similar field. You keep your wins more private than your losses, until way later.

(5,255 posts)She is astonishingly underrated. She's highly effective. And Republicans would be all over the airwaves with "CANDIDATE XYZ IS CLOSELY TIED TO WASHINGTON LIBERAL TIM RYAN" ads anyway; the truth doesn't matter to them as we well know.
Meanwhile, she and Schumer have taken advantage of clear Republican divisions and are showing themselves to be responsible adult politicians, which is important.
Let other people take the charge on the Russia investigation and talk about impeachment. She doesn't need to do so.

(29,322 posts)At the beginning of the year it was there but I haven't much of that recently if at all. FTR I supported Pelosi over Tim Ryan to replace her and I'm at the Bernie wing of the party.

(28,151 posts)It reminds me of the mob-rule days in Athens. Lost a war. Execute ALL the generals. Next war comes. Yeah, Athens is fucked.
I can only wonder: Are they really short-sighted fools? Or do they really want ruination for the Dems? Hard to tell.
