but the thing that gets me is how much faith the residents have in Trump.
They overwhelmingly voted for him, don't believe in climate change, and think he will help them build a wall around the island.
It is estimated the island will be completely submerged in the next 20 years or so.
I guess I just can't believe how gullible and ignorant some people can be.

The Caribbean islands will be especially hard hit.

(21,596 posts)Stayed overnight in an inn with no air conditioning. Literally not much to do after the tour boats leave. All restaurants closed around 3 and did not open until something like 10. There wasn't a swimming beach or any recreational stuff. Shops closed and island is small! Took about 45 minutes to walk entire thing. We did go to fishing area and watched boats come in and heard the old English accent! Ate dinner at a crab shack--fresh whole soft shell crab put between slices of wonder bread. I think I would go for a few hours on tourist boats and not stay overnight.
