Twitter had a field day this morning after President Trump retweeted a meme @Fuctupmind tweeted at him showing him hitting a golf ball at Hillary Clinton.
The President retweeted a bunch of things this morning, but this one stuck out:

(44,198 posts)Election was in November 2016. It is now September 2017, why is he tweeting this dumb video now? A response to "What Happened" ? Maybe that's it but it is infantile and dumb.

(9,426 posts)he has no idea what the job entails!! He is doing a crappy job, day after day. Worst mistake the gop has made, and that is saying something. Trying to normalize this dimwit is next to impossible. The office of the president will take YEARS to make whole again. This clown has damaged it, maybe beyond repair. Obviously, the gop thinks any idiot can play president.

(70,603 posts)The officers were satisfied. My manner had convinced them. I was singularly at ease. They sat, and while I answered cheerily, they chatted of familiar things. But, ere long, I felt myself getting pale and wished them gone. My head ached, and I fancied a ringing in my ears: but still they sat and still chatted. The ringing became more distinct: --It continued and became more distinct: I talked more freely to get rid of the feeling: but it continued and gained definiteness --until, at length, I found that the noise was not within my ears. No doubt I now grew very pale; --but I talked more fluently, and with a heightened voice. Yet the sound increased --and what could I do? It was a low, dull, quick sound --much such a sound as a watch makes when enveloped in cotton. I gasped for breath --and yet the officers heard it not. I talked more quickly --more vehemently; but the noise steadily increased. I arose and argued about trifles, in a high key and with violent gesticulations; but the noise steadily increased. Why would they not be gone? I paced the floor to and fro with heavy strides, as if excited to fury by the observations of the men --but the noise steadily increased. Oh God! what could I do? I foamed --I raved --I swore! I swung the chair upon which I had been sitting, and grated it upon the boards, but the noise arose over all and continually increased. It grew louder --louder --louder! And still the men chatted pleasantly, and smiled. Was it possible they heard not? Almighty God! --no, no! They heard! --they suspected! --they knew! --they were making a mockery of my horror!-this I thought, and this I think. But anything was better than this agony! Anything was more tolerable than this derision! I could bear those hypocritical smiles no longer! I felt that I must scream or die! and now --again! --hark! louder! louder! louder! louder!
"Villains!" I shrieked, "dissemble no more! I admit the deed! --tear up the planks! here, here! --It is the beating of his hideous heart!"

(242 posts)You have to actually care about the target of humor for it to be truly funny, which is why you don't see many (or, actually, any) Republican comedians. It's also why Trump never attempts actual humor, which can be very useful in negotiating "deals".

It's a good thing the guy is rich enough to have his own company, because nobody with firing brain neurons would hire the dipshit to work for them.

(23,166 posts)Justice is a beautiful thing and one I long to see. True justice is removing all the colluding repugs from office, and that includs Pence, Ryan and McConnell, plus of course Flynn, Manafort, Jared, and all the drumpf kids except Tiffany and Barron. Melania would divorce him right away and life would make sense again.

If he dies broke, I'll be happy, imprisoned or not. At his core he's a rascist white trash piece of shit, and he knows it. He uses his wealth (badly, according to those with REAL Wealth) to cover up what an unelegant, worthless human being he really is. The deplorables all voted for him not because of who he is, but because he is the aspiration of what they all want to be. That they cannot be, and will never be, MUST be someone ELSE'S fault.

Excerpt:
There will not be a book published this fall more urgent, important, or controversial than The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump, the work of 27 psychiatrists, psychologists and mental health experts to assess President Trumps mental health. They had come together last March at a conference at Yale University to wrestle with two questions. One was on countless minds across the country: Whats wrong with him? The second was directed to their own code of ethics: Does Professional Responsibility Include a Duty to Warn if they conclude the president to be dangerously unfit?
As mental health professionals, these men and women respect the long-standing Goldwater rule which inhibits them from diagnosing public figures whom they have not personally examined. At the same time, as explained by Dr. Bandy X Lee, who teaches law and psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, the rule does not have a countervailing rule that directs what to do when the risk of harm from remaining silent outweighs the damage that could result from speaking about a public figure which in this case, could even be the greatest possible harm. It is an old and difficult moral issue that requires a great exertion of conscience. Their decision: We respect the rule, we deem it subordinate to the single most important principle that guides our professional conduct: that we hold our responsibility to human life and well-being as paramount.
Hence, this profound, illuminating and discomforting book undertaken as a duty to warn.
The foreword is by one of Americas leading psychohistorians, Robert Jay Lifton. He is renowned for his studies of people under stress for books such as Death in Life: Survivors of Hiroshima (1967), Home from the War: Vietnam Veterans Neither Victims nor Executioners (1973), and The Nazi Doctors: Medical Killing and the Psychology of Genocide (1986). The Nazi Doctors was the first in-depth study of how medical professionals rationalized their participation in the Holocaust, from the early stages of the Hitlers euthanasia project to extermination camps.
The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump will be published Oct. 3 by St. Martins Press.
