It is becoming increasingly clear that largely due to social media, many people cannot tell the difference between real and fake statements.
It will get worse exponentially over the next few years.
Another thing related to this...some (especially right leaning people) seem to be posting bullshit memes all over the internet, knowing that they are untrue, simply because...well...they COULD BE true, or they MAKE A POINT.
I'm not saying that the left is totally blameless in this regard, but the left does seem more concerned with fact checking.

(4,841 posts)it didn't turn out that way. Far, far too many people (want to) believe lies, and that is dangerous for a society. Look at the damage Fox news has done to a generation. Sigh.
