President Donald Trump remarked during his speech to Hurricane Irma first responders that “Melania really wanted to be with us” — as she stood right next to him.

The Trumps traveled to Fort Myers, Florida, last week to survey the damage and talk to first responders about the work they have been doing.

During President Trump’s speech, he said, “I just wanted to thank everybody — our first responders — on behalf of myself, our vice president — Melania really wanted to be with us. She’s really — it’s really touched her heart.”

All he said was, "Melania really wanted to be with us. ....it's really touched her heart."

He didn't say she wanted to be there but was unable to make it. The fact she is next to him just illustrates what he was saying. She wanted to be there, and she was.

Stop trying to make him sound stupid all the time. He says enough stupid things that don't make sense, that it makes our side look desperate when we start making something out of nothing.
