(146,288 posts)She is a very, very articulate person and is very, very good at speaking on issues. She's one of my senators, along with Al Franken. She will represent us with grace and power. Don't underestimate her.

(575 posts)In 1930s, comic Will Rogers said he did not belong to an organized party...he was a democrat.
There have been jokes for years about the democrats and their strong will, strong opinions and arguing. And criticizing the party.
This idea of pretending to be lockstep has only taken hold in the past couple years.
A democrat is not afraid to express or criticize

(575 posts)For years I wished we could have health care as my family in France have.
While the ACA is a good beginning, it should move forward until we get single payer.
Its the only way for people to get the health care they need and deserve.

(9,967 posts)tonight, it will just show three senators who are against it. It will inject new life to the dying Obamacare repeal.
How do you think this will help? What do you think will happen if Sanders deflects the conversation from saving the ACA to single payer?

(575 posts)Alot of people would feel it unfair.
Besides, Bernie speaks the true democratic ideas that made the party strong and popular for decades. Its only in the past 20 years that the party abandoned it's traditional beliefs. Threw out the New Deal and turned their back on it.
Bernie speaks New Deal and that still is powerful for the majority of the people

(1,349 posts)men who don't much care for the ACA and have other issues they've set up to distract from what the GOP is up to.
They're announcing their game plan, CNN is cashing it, with the cooperation of someone in desperate need of an audience.

(4,267 posts)However this divisiveness is counterproductive.
We need to win big in 2018. If we get out the vote (I know, I know), everyone who's pissed will have no excuse for not voting. No f-ing excuse.

(31,233 posts)in our power to save the ACA, and stop muddying the waters until repeal is off the table for good. I don't think folks like you get that we're standing on the precipice of watching the closest thing we've ever had to universal health care struck down. Dems, and "allies" should be laser focused on saving what we've gained.
You don't talk about adding a sun porch when the house is on fire, you put out the fire first. That's why I agree with Hillary Clinton that the timing couldn't be worse.

.....According to Sanders spokesman Josh Miller-Lewis, CNN came to the senator with the idea earlier in the week, and Sanders signed on without hesitation.
For us, it was a no brainer, said Josh Miller-Lewis. If its a debate between guaranteeing health care to every single person as a right, or taking it away from 30 million Americans, Democrats will always win. How could you not take that opportunity?
